There are two tar files in this directory:
allfig.tar
- 56 files which use the SM plotting package to generate plots
of the C IV, Ly alpha, and N V line profiles for each object.
In a few cases other lines are drawn. The name convention is
fig.pgxxxx where xxxx are the first 4 digits of the object's PG
name. There are three additional files: fig.weak1, fig.int1,
fig.low1, which generate Figures 1, 2, 3 of Laor & Brandt (2002).
The important quantities in these files are the wavelength shifts
applied to the spectra, which are based on ISM absorption lines
(see the paper). The last three files have the final values for
each object (these may slightly differ from the values in the 56
object files).
alldata.tar.gz
- 105 data files with UV spectra in the format lambda, f_lambda.
These are mostly HST FOS spectra. We coadded data if more than
one exposure per grating was found in the archives, excluding
cases where the different exposures show significant variability
or very different S/N. No Galactic extinction corrections or
wavelength shifts were applied to the data. Wavelength corrections
based on ISM absorption lines appear in the SM plotting commands.
