Some Ideas for Honors Options

If you're a student in the Schreyer Honors College then there are 
opportunities for you to take "Black Holes in the Universe" with an 
honors option. Feel free to contact Niel Brandt about this. 

For example, if you're mathematically inclined then you could do some basic
calculations using relativity to support your assigned papers. In the 
past, for example, students have 

 * Examined the basic mathematical properties of the Lorentz transformations
   and the Minkowski interval. 

 * Calculated the precession rate for a binary pulsar following exercises
   from the book _Exploring Black Holes_ by E.F. Taylor and J.A. Wheeler. 

Non-mathematical honors options should also be possible.
